# FAQ

> Common questions about no-tickets, tiny-brain, and how they work together.

Quick answers to questions we hear most often. For deeper material
see the topic pages linked below.

## What is no-tickets?

no-tickets is the observability layer for agentic coding. AI agents
ship features in minutes — legacy project trackers, built around
humans hand-creating tickets, can't keep up. no-tickets inverts the
model: **dev activity generates the board automatically**. Devs and
agents push structured events as they work; PMs, stakeholders, and
eng leads see a live board without anyone manually moving cards.

## What is tiny-brain?

[tiny-brain](https://github.com/magic-ingredients/tiny-brain) is the
open-source CLI that runs inside your repo. It enforces TDD,
runs adversarial code reviews, tracks coverage and mutation
testing, and manages PRD-to-task progress. It's the guardrails that
keep AI agents producing quality code — and it's the recommended
way to generate the structured state no-tickets shows on the board.

## Do I need tiny-brain to use no-tickets?

No. tiny-brain is the easiest way to generate project state, but
no-tickets accepts any state snapshot via [its
API](/api-reference/overview). If you have your own tooling that
produces structured progress data, you can push it directly with
the [`no-tickets` CLI](/cli-reference/overview) or the REST API.

## Is my code sent to no-tickets?

**No.** no-tickets never sees your source code. It receives
structured state snapshots — feature names, task statuses, test
counts, progress percentages. Your code stays in your repo. See
[Privacy](/faq/privacy) for the full data inventory.

## How does pricing work?

You pay for **sync events** (the updates devs and agents push) and
**active pushers** — viewers are unlimited on every plan. Full
breakdown on the [Pricing](/faq/pricing) page.

## Can I use this with GitLab or Bitbucket?

The CLI push model works with any git host. GitHub integration
(webhook-based updates) is available on the Pro plan; GitLab and
Bitbucket webhook support is on the roadmap.

## Why not just use Jira or Linear?

Jira and Linear are built for humans creating tickets. In the
agentic era, AI agents move too fast for that model. no-tickets
inverts it: dev activity generates the board automatically. PMs
and Product Owners organise views on top and coordinate the wider
business around the releases.
